Start with the calendars you want on paper

Smart Printer App reads calendars available through Apple Calendar after you grant access. Choose the calendars that belong in this copy. A family timetable probably does not need your work meetings, and a shared office sheet should not include private appointments.

This uses the calendars available on the phone. It is not a separate sign-in to a Google Calendar account. If an account’s events are not present in Apple Calendar, check that account’s setup first.

Choose a layout that fits your schedule

A month grid is good for seeing the shape of a month. An agenda gives event names more room. A month plus agenda combines an overview with details, which is often more useful for a busy household.

The app also offers a week view. Its visible time range is 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; choose an agenda for overnight events. Dense month cells have limited room. Use the agenda and inspect the export rather than assuming every event name will fit in the grid.

Create your calendar PDF

  1. Open Calendar in Smart Printer App and allow calendar access.
  2. Choose the calendars and the month or week you need.
  3. Select your view and check the preview.
  4. Use the share button to export the PDF, or Print to continue to your printer.
  5. Open the exported PDF and check dates, long event names and busy days before sharing it.

Use the PDF for sharing and the printed copy for a place where everyone can see it.

Make a copy people can use

Before putting it on a wall, check the week-start day and whether event times match what you expect, particularly after travel or a time-zone change. Use a simple title when sharing the file, such as “Family calendar, November.”

A printed calendar is a snapshot. If an event moves, the paper does not update with it. Keeping the sheet focused on the next week or month makes it easier to replace when plans change.
