Use a network meant for guests
If your router offers a guest network, consider using it for the sign. Ask the person who manages the network before publishing its credentials. Anyone who can read or scan the sign may be able to join it.
A Wi-Fi QR code contains connection information. It does not hide the password securely or create a new network. Keep the sign where its intended users can see it, rather than posting a photograph of it publicly.
Create the code in Smart Printer App
- Open QR Code and choose Wi-Fi.
- Enter the network name exactly as it appears on your phone.
- Enter the password and select the matching security type.
- Use the hidden-network option only if your network is hidden.
- Add a short label so guests know what the code is for.
- Choose one, four or nine codes per page and review the preview.
Use a compatible printer reachable from your iPhone. This feature creates a static code; it does not include scan tracking or a hosted link service.
Test before you make ten copies
Print one code at a comfortable size and scan it with another phone. Confirm that it joins the intended network. A clear black code on a plain light background is a sensible starting point. Do not cut away the empty space surrounding it.
If the scan works but joining fails, check the network name, password and security choice. If scanning fails, make the code larger and check that the print is sharp. A screen preview alone cannot tell you how a small printed code will scan.
Keep the sign current
Changing the router password means making a new sign. A static QR code cannot quietly update itself. Labeling the sign with the network name makes it easier to spot an old copy.
For a guest room, reception desk or shared studio, one neatly placed sign is usually enough. The point is to make arrival easier, not fill the room with instructions.
